How to feel more Autumnal | 10 things to make you feel more Autumnal | Autumn Bucket List

My stunning Autumnal Wedding bouquet  For anyone that’s following me on social media, watching my YouTube videos and reading this blog, it will come as no surprise that Autumn is my absolute favourite time of the year. Well, strictly Autumn in to Winter…in fact, Rich and I got married on 1st November and the colours, menu and décor were a distinct nod to this fabulous time of year!  Our stunning Autumn Wedding Cake So whilst it’s still early Autumn and it’s not yet all about Halloween and Bonfire night (literally cannot wait for those…) I thought I’d share with you what I do at this time of year to start feeling the warm, cosy vibes of Autumn over here in the UK.  1. Crack out the warming candle scents  Without a doubt, the minute there is a slight chill in the air, and I can justify getting those autumnal candles out….I’m there! For me autumn is all about the smell of wood smoke in the air, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and all of the other warming spices t

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Latte? UK Recipe

Well... I promised you some lifestyle videos, AND it's bloomin' Autumn - how exciting is that...so I've kicked off with a 'How To' video over on our YouTube Channel. This is a video I've thought about doing for ages because whenever I've looked in to making Pumpkin Spice Latte there isn't anything quick and easy. Most recipes call for obscure ingredients like pureed pumpkin, or pumpkin spice syrup, and when you live in a little rural village in the UK those things aren't easily available! I actually did try and order pumpkin puree from Sainsburys but when the food shop came they didn't have it...! I spent a while thinking about ordering some of that Monin coffee syrup but the stuff I found online was like £12 and it said it would take nearly 60 days to arrive - sod that...I know I can make my own so I thought I'd crack on and do a video on it! So you can watch the full video on our YouTube channel ( click here )...but in a nutshe

Log Burner Debacle! Chilli Penguin vs Clearview Stoves.

It's no secret for anyone that knows me, I love Autumn! From September to December are my happy months, the colours, the smells, the cosy feels I love it! As you'll know from my previous posts, we're in the process of installing a log burner, which is so incredibly exciting...Autumn/Winter nights in front of the log burner for the win! Also...with no central heating and an incredibly tight husband who won't put the electric heaters on - I just really need some form of heat....15-17 degrees in the house isn't all that fun! Actually choosing a wood burning stove has been much harder than we expected - the size of the original fire place is pretty small, which has limited our model choice. We could of course look at opening up the fireplace further but due to the way it's constructed it's likely to cause costly complications (which with our shoe string budget isn't ideal)...we've taken to making mock-ups with cardboard to try and help us make decision

Let the chaos commence...

It's Tuesday 12th September and the chaos has well and truly started! As the temperatures have started to drop our thoughts have turned to Winter - and as we are without central heating in the bungalow for this year (plans for that to go in next year) we've decided to plough ahead with the installation of a wood burning stove to keep at least one room cosy and warm. Don't get me wrong, we do have heaters, but they are all individually controlled, massively inefficient electric heaters  - and so the decision was made to install the log burner. We went out and spoke to a few local suppliers/installers and on receipt of a quote to install...we came to the conclusion it would be more cost effective to do the labour that we could do ourselves, and so on Sunday the work began... First came the removal of the furniture, and then chaos ensued.... Why not watch our  Progress so far We're still to confirm which stove model we're going for - at the moment it
