Well...
I promised you some lifestyle videos, AND it's bloomin' Autumn - how exciting is that...so I've kicked off with a 'How To' video over on our YouTube Channel. This is a video I've thought about doing for ages because whenever I've looked in to making Pumpkin Spice Latte there isn't anything quick and easy. Most recipes call for obscure ingredients like pureed pumpkin, or pumpkin spice syrup, and when you live in a little rural village in the UK those things aren't easily available! I actually did try and order pumpkin puree from Sainsburys but when the food shop came they didn't have it...!
I spent a while thinking about ordering some of that Monin coffee syrup but the stuff I found online was like £12 and it said it would take nearly 60 days to arrive - sod that...I know I can make my own so I thought I'd crack on and do a video on it!
So you can watch the full video on our YouTube channel (click here)...but in a nutshell the ingredients are:
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground mixed spice
1 tablespoon of maple syrup
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon decent instant coffee such as Azera or 1 Lungo Nespresso capsule
210ml milk
Squirty cream if you're feeling a bit cheeky...!
- Mix the dry ingredients and add the maple syrup in
- Put the granulated sugar in your coffee mug
- Add 1 teaspoon of the spiced syrup in to your coffee mug
- Brew coffee in to the mug either instant or nespresso
- Add 210ml of warm milk
- Squirt on cream
Job done! Effectively Pumpkin Spice is a warming spice mix...add coffee and milk and you have a PSL!
You COULD add all of the milk, dry ingredients, sugar and syrup in to a pan with some pureed pumpkin, simmer down and then add to brewed coffee - but that seems such a faff for a quick and easy drink....!
So try it, let me know how you get on and comment below with how it went! :-)
